The Victorian Government established the inquiry into the use of chemical substances by employees of the former Victorian Department of Crown Lands and Survey (and its successor departments) to investigate the use and practices around chemicals 245T and 24D by former Lands Department employees between 1965 and 1995, in a number of Western Victorian shires.

The Former Lands Department Chemical Inquiry made three recommendations within the report that was handed down in 2015. In response, the Victorian Government has undertaken significant work and can now advise that all recommendations have been addressed.

The Victorian Government has released its response to an Inquiry report relating to the use of chemical substances by the former Victorian Department of Crown Lands. The Inquiry examined the impacts of exposure from particular chemicals on the Department's employees between 1965 and 1995 in a number of Western Victorian shires.
